WHAT I'VE DONE
I am into art and literature. After immigrating to Canada, I decided to pursue my interests even more seriously. I am a graduate student of Comparative Literature in the York university of Toronto now. What I do first is to study philosephy and apply it to poetry. As a serious by-product of this procedure, my post-modern paitings are representatives of my trend of thought and illustrative of the poetry of the internationally known Persian poet, Rumi. Currently, I am obssessed with the concept of Light and its representation in Rumi's poetry as well as depicting it in my art.
WHAT I DO
I am from Iran, from the Land of Persia, the Land of Poetry, the land where literature has been put into miniature paintings throughout the years of the country’s vicissitudinous history as a doorway of expression. I am from the land of grandeur imagination. What I love most about art is to learn to think and to imagine, something that I find in our everlasting poetry. What I do with this sublime inherited material is to put it into colors via abstract or semi-abstract forms. What inspires me is Persian poetry the essence of which I depict through a combination of Persian forms of calligraphy and modern abstract painting: postmodern creations.
